IJA encourages everyone to sponsor programs, the cost will be under $200 for Thursday sponsorship’s (excluding big night Wiladat’s or Shahadat’s). $180 for Thursdays (60 people price) & $225 for small Wiladat’s / Shahadat’s (75 people price)

All the IJA Youth who are interested in speaking in Urdu or English during our events, we encourage them to participate. Please contact Br. Muhammed H. Hussain, who has been organizing the youths to speak at different events.

GRAND Shabaan Jashan at IJA on Friday, May 22nd, 2015: IJA will be having a Shabaan Jashan on Friday, May 22nd, 2015. The program will start at 8:15pm and will be an extended program. Nauha & Manqabat Khuan Br. Rizwan Zaidi of Pakistan and local Miami reciters will be reciting.

EID Toy Drive – The Muslim Women of South Florida Organization is holding a toy drive for EID – ul – FITR. Donate a NEW TOY (unwrapped) for ages 1-14, (minimum $10). Gift cards with receipt are also accepted, ideal for older kids. (TOYS R US OR BARNES & NOBLES). To donate please talk to Br. Jamil Rizvi, Br. Mohammad Iqbal, Br. Muhammed h. Hussain, or Br. Raza Rizvi. There will be collection boxes at IJA. The Dates are from June 29th, 2014 to July 20th, 2014.

Ramadhan Relief Fund

This past year has been a difficult one for so many men, women and children who struggle to cope with economic, health and social pressures.

Northeast Kenya is at risk of another drought because of insufficient rainfall this past year. Seniors in Bihar, India continue to live in abject poverty as they age. Families in the Gaza Strip are food insecure and desperately need rations. With the unemployment rate in Haiti at 40%, jobless community members live in fear and worry. Victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines are still recovering from the disaster. These are just some of the countless examples of hardships people are facing around the world.

In the weeks before the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Muslims around the world wait in anticipation for the arrival of this very blessed month. This anticipation is more so among the destitute including orphans, widows, seniors, children and the disabled because they know that among other things, Ramadhan is the month of mercy, generosity and charity.

The World Federation is pleased to launch its annual Ramadhan Relief Fund which aims to ease the plight of thousands people who struggle daily in so many different ways. Our hope is to make others feel loved and cherished through our support this month so that they too can benefit from the countless blessings the month of Ramadhan has to offer.

This year, The World Federation is working in over 15 countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Europe, Haiti, India, Iraq, Kenya, Madagascar, Myanmar, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tanzania and Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

With your help, we hope to provide various forms of aid such as food baskets, iftaar, sehri, debt relief, medical assistance and other essential items and services to make the month of Ramadhan a little easier for those who are counting on our help. For as little as £30 GBP / $45 USD-CAD, you can feed a family of four for one month.

IJA MERIT SCHOLARSHIP & SAT TRAINING PROGRAM

In order to encourage students to excel in their academics, IJA is pleased to announce two programs with immediate effect. IJA Merit Scholarship Program IJA is awarding 3 scholarships to 3 meritorious students – one each from high school, middle school and elementary school. There shall be a one-time cash award and a Certificate of Merit. All participants will also be honored with a Certificate of Participation.

  • High School $ 500
  • Middle School $ 300

  • Elementary School $ 200

    Criteria of Selection: The students shall be judged by panel of judges with the following criteria:

(A) GPA at the end of the academic year 2013-14 (40%)

(B) Extra-curriculum activities (15%)

(C) Essay (40%)

(D) Presentation of the documents ( 5%)

(Please make sure that the presentation of the copies and the essay is very good. Copies of all documents must be submitted in triplicate - Include SAT scores, if any – it would help) Essay: The student shall write an essay in the category to which the student belongs to. The essay shall be neatly typed using MS Word in Calibri (11 font) justified paragraphs with 1.5 lines spacing. The name of the Participant, name of the father, school and grade attended in the academic year 2013-14 shall be in bold at the right top corner. The essay topics according to the categories are as follows: High School: (1500 words) – “In this modernized globalized trans-national world, where do you like to see the Islamic civilization in the year 2064 A.D. and how we will get there?” Middle School: (700 words) – “Discuss about the 5 principles of Islam (Usul e Deen) and their significance and benefits in the lives of the Muslims” Elementary School: (300 words) – “What lesson do you learn from the Battle of Karbala?” Judges: The decision of the judges shall be final and binding. The panel of judges include: Maulana Jaffer Banglori, Resident Alim, IJA Brother Syed Jamil Rizvi, President, IJA Sister Irma Khoja, Board Member, IJA The awards shall be given Inshallah on Eid e Ghadeer 2014.
